okay i’m not sure if the people who are reblogging this have seen the movie or not but actually this segment is pretty sad. this woman is one of the prostitutes that work in mexico in the third segment, and most of them are actually quite unhappy and addicted to meth, etc.
there’s a difference between being trafficked/forced into sex work, doing sex work out of necessity, and choosing to do sex work for one’s self, and this was definitely not a case of the latter. idk man sometimes tumblr posts stuff that’s problematic because no one knows the backstory and just reblogs without source-checking.
All segments of this film were sad. There were women who were forced into sex work, women who did it out of necessity and others who did it because they wanted to. The woman in this photoset enjoys her job and at the same time does it out of necessity, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I don’t see how this is problematic.
It’s all a facade who would really enjoy having sex with hundreds of men on the daily most not even attractive for a little bit of money to go straight to your addictions. Shes probably learned to love her job over the years because she feels she has no other choice but to continue selling her body to make her ends meet. Everyone should watch this documentary though.
